Scott plays Irish flute and penny whistle for InishMohr. He studies flute with
Laura MacKenzie of St. Paul, when she's not touring. He has now tackled
Uillean pipes under the tutorship of Tom Klein of St. Paul.
We joke that Scott's ambition is to own every traditional Celtic music CD ever
recorded and he's well on the way. His extensive knowledge of the intricacies of traditional
Irish music is quite impressive. You can tell from his playing that he has
listened intently to his favorite players and absorbed their influences to
develop his own style.
Scott is an active member of the Twin Cities chapter of the Royal Scottish
Country Dance Society, and a very talented Scottish Country dancer. He has the distinction
of being one of the few certified Scottish Country Dance instructors in the
Twin Cities.
